• New member, just saying hello.

Hi fellas,

I'm new here, I come from the Harmony Central
discussion forums. I know that place gets overly
childish on a daily basis, but there are some good
folk over there.

Anyhow, I intend to learn alot form you all, It
has been a very long time since I played either
a Jackson or a Charvel, but Steve's Music here in
Toronto has quite a few in stock, and when I tried
one out, I knew I had been missing out on
something BIG.

I have been a Strat / Tele guy for ages ( not
necessarily Fender, see? ) but now I am looking
to expand.

I want to ease into it and not make any stupid
purchases, except that there is a Charvel called
a Spectrum, that I suspect is a low end model, but
I saw a picture of one in a color called "Deer
Hunter Orange" and I must have one

welcome Volke. Sit down and take a load off. Plenty to learn here. Search the Import Charvel section for "Spectrum" - you should get a few results. Quite a few folks here own them and from all accounts they are a good solid guitar.
Hail yesterday

Thanks for the headsup.

I have been searching all over here this morning,
and I am amazed at the sheer amount of knowledge
that there is here collectively.

It's a long road ahead of me

Let me be the second person to say "welcome." Indeed you will learn a lot here. Anything you want to know, just ask. Someone here can give you an answer.

Friendly bunch, you lot. I sort of expected a less
than warm welcome, I'm not exactly sure why

Oh, and Rhodes will get you lots of flack too.

Welcome aboard. I used to spend some time on H-C several years ago, but I found it was kind of childish at times. Plus there were a few blowhards over there that should have spent more time practicing and less time typing. Although I suppose you can find people like that all over the internet...

Best of luck finding the Spectrum. This is probably one of the best places to get hooked up with one of those. But don't post in the classifieds until you get past the "Junior Member" level.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">That is the reason why I left Harmony Central forums. People here are of very different age, more mature and more skilled.
What you can find here is people, that can change a potato into the guitar with scalloped fretboard, 24 frets and Floyd Rose + 1 humbucker and volume pot. It's no much, but it is something. We haven't gone very far, to also include some extras on this one...

... but I think you get the basic picture of who JCFers are. Who joins never leaves.
