The San Dimas logo can have the Made in USA after the N, but always has TM above the N and never an R in a circle. Check out my site for the timeline and variations www.jacksonsoloist.com.

Jim my aug 86 soloist i believe is San Dimas &amp; has the ® not the TM. ive seen others like that as well.

Is August '86 still San Dimas? I thought it was pre-June guitars was San Dimas and post June were partially constructed in San Dimas and finished off in Ontario.

thats my understanding as well jim... my interest serial # wise seldom takes me past jan.'85, so that transition is something I dont usually have to deal with... john

Most logos have the ® to the left of the "n". Mine is at the end and obscured by the tuner. Not a big deal, but I've never seen any others like that.

My crackle I bought brand new and the plate says San Dimas. I don't remember what year, but I should have the receipt some where. The Serial number is 28XX.

The neckplates said San Dimas into 1989.

My justification for posting my picture above... errr, the logo is silkscreened rather than a shell inlay like the Soloists around that time period or whatever... ehhhh, I got nothing. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] Guilty as charged. [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

For some reason, I'm really digging the silkscreened logo on my Shannon's headstock. Maybe it's because the MOP sharks aren't very multicolored and as intense as normal to begin with, so the sharks match the headstock. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

For a fun rebuttal... what's with your teeny-tiny San Dimas headstock picture compared to the rest of the photos you posted above? [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] I keed, I keed. [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

I prefer the San Dimas decal logos as it is bigger. However I also like the ability to customize the color scheme with the silk screens.
