the guitar looks incredible, good job guys. robin crosby is the reason i own a kv2 as well. the power of metal is way too strong.

the differences between the two are the wood of the wings, control layout, pickup logos, made in usa logo placement, and headstock color.

how are you enjoying the proto?

I still dig the matching headstock!! It may not be BR as we all know it, but still cool none the less! I may have to just order one for me, since I passed on 02 like a major DUMBASS! Errrr... But, I decided to stick to a handful of guitars, so ordering one would be a big step for me.

As I've stated in the YCE forum, had I known it was dead after 02, I would have never passed on it. I just hope the person that took my slot appreciates that guitar for what it is!

also, if anyone's interested, you can always have one made. we don't have an exclusivity right on the series anymore.

color hasn't been specified, we were told that the prototype wouldn't be red. i believe it will be coming in january to go with the 25th jackson anniversary.

The JCF serial # is protected though right? If someone were to commision one to be done on there own thaey would not have the JCF # or the signed plates correct?

well, the signed plates are all gone; there was enough for the run, and that's it.

i don't believe that jackson will allow the serial #, though.

Hey Sully, I love it. Two of the main reasons I wanted it so bad was the non recessed floyd (neck angle) and the binding over the fret ends. Neck angle and the binding over frets are the two things I love about old or custom Jacksons. I.E. Rhoads PCS, my LTD Shannon Soloist. What are the differences in the wood from the proto to the production ? Stragletooth, I'll put you on the list, but I rarely sell a piece I wanted since the 80's but you never know stranger things have happened.
