a washburn idol cheap but not crap. iv'e played one there
very good for the price
or a yamaha pacifica 112 good guitar for the price. by
the way why would you buy your girlfriend an expensive
guitar if she's learning it . she'll sound the same on
a sl1 as she does on a cheaper guitar better if you
bought her a good cheap guitar and if she's still
playing in a year then get her a better guitar
Of those two choices, I'd say the Charvel. Aside from the fact that I like it better, it has a 24.75" scale neck, right? That'd probably be a lot more comfortable.
Yeah......she's not a beginner in the sense of not ever having picked up a guitar, she used to have an acoustic but it got stolen before me and her hooked up. Every now and then she also jams on one my electrics, usually my LTD with the licensed floyd. She prefers it over my mockingbird that has a vitage trem on it. She only nows basic chords right now but is starting to get into lead so I want to get her something that she'll keep for a while. Not something that she will get tired of fast. So yeah, I'll definately get the charvel. Thanks for the opinions dudes.

If she is in girlfriend status, just remember that when she goes, the guitar goes. Or sign a pre-nup that states she needs to stay with you at least 1 year, a hummer when ever requested and a chick pic with the guitar to share with you JCF buddies to keep the guitar. Sounds fair to me!

Newc sounds right here.Of those two choices, I'd say the Charvel. Aside from the fact that I like it better, it has a 24.75" scale neck, right? That'd probably be a lot more comfortable.
[/ QUOTE ]No, the Model 4 is 25.5" scale; the Fusions are the ones with 24.75" scales.
Get her what she wants. Let her pick it out. You wouldn't want her picking out your guitar. Now, you have to worry. If she learns quick, will she be better? That would suck! Na. Never happen.

Buy her a guitar that you would play yourself, then if you ever break up, you get it back and get a free present

I agree with Paddok, thats why I got my girl a Firebird - I may need a Gibson in my collection one day
