Here's how I look at this...I get a ton of kids coming in at work asking for ESPs because Metallica/Atreyu/Machine Head/Dave Mustaine/etc play them. You know how many people I get in that ask for Jacksons? None. I pitch Jacksons to the kids that come in and ask for ESPs (we are not an ESP dealer, I wish we were). In the 8 months that I've been working at GC I can only remember two Jackson guitars being sold. Fender or no Fender, Jenna Jameson or no Jenna Jameson, I think Jackson really needs to take a look at what they're doing and maybe rethink it a bit.

In all seriousness the bottom line is that I dread the day the Jackson line becomes a burden on the financial bottom line. To all of us it seems the Jacksons are really popular but remember we are creatures of comfort and surround ourselves with others that share the same likes and views...(this forum for example). I think the mag. w/ Jenna definately catches the eye and as they say...sex sells...I think Fender is doing an ace job at this point. They have proven that they didn't just buy the company to own quantity...they have shown they have a true commitment to make the Jackson/Charvel line succeed...kudos. My point is that you are doing your job to push these young guys away from ESP's and into Jacksons... I still wish Mustaine would have gotten the company. Jenna gives us thirty something guys to be fools about,(just jokingly), and associates all that with the great playing Jacksons we love to play and it also makes us think about their time in the hayday when alot of us were seventeen and chasing bootie, these are just different times...damn I sound old.

Box - I definitely see your point; whether Jackson perceives paid endorsers as wh0res or not doesn't matter to the larger buying public, they want whatever they see their hero playing this week.
While it doesn't build brand loyalty, it does fill the coffers, and in business, filling the coffers is everything.
However, with Jackson being under the FMIC umbrella, and making a product that at one time gave FMIC a serious fight in the marketplace, it does seem that Fender has the opportunity to hold Jackson back with one hand while supplying them with upgraded facilities and such with the other hand, and you don't bite the hand that feeds you.
But then who controls Jackson's advertising/marketing, Fender or Jackson? If Jackson is the one saying "no paid artists", and FMIC allows them that authority (under the purchase contract), then the beef is completely with Jackson.

I just got the new FHM mag. in the mail yesterday with Jenna. She has a new look with brown hair. I think it looks good on her.
