Yeah Jackson's being slow what with the holidays, as well as.................

As for the RR, the body and hardware colors should never be the same - it's a fashion no-no

It works well for Gawths, but then Gawths don't have the money to buy anything because they won't drop "the look" long enough to get a real job - and no, working at the local Wiccan-Mart or a Vintage Books and Old Rags store is not a real job

And your point would be...?

[/ QUOTE ]

What I thought of limited guitars is basically a slight change based on a select series guitar.
I was thinking maybe RR1 with no pickguard, adding 2 more frets and maybe changing the hardware colors would do without making it as CS price.
Removing the pickguard should be no big deal as changing the hardware colors.
24frets neck should be the same deal while KV2,KE2 and SL have 24frets necks.
I just wanted this to be something not too different from regular models but something that probably many people want.

Very true Tim.
I guess dealers have to do what they feel right to go with.

I saw Guitarexpress, onlinestagegear have done many limited guitars and sold most of all and I am sure Scott @ Vwal will sell his limited guitars well too.
These dealers have to have confidence to do these limited without listening to us too much.
We are not the only buyers of these Jackson guitars

Yeah, its a big step to place orders for LTDS runs.
At some point you gotta just settle on the features and go with it and hope you have enuff interest to move them.
Im a little apprehensive about the KV2X LTD run I did but few members here spoke out adamantly on them so I wanted to take a chance on them.
Here's to hope

To me, LTD runs are great and I plan on doing many, many more of them.

EXACTLY!!!!!! These two gentlemen know what I'm referring to. I reckon the SL1T and SL2HT are pretty strong sellers. Why? Because they're regular USA Soloists with one "tiny" change. People love the USA Soloist but wanted a string-thru version of it. BAM! Done. People are happy. Everything they know and love about the Soloist but now they don't have to gripe about the "damn Floyd"!

Same philosophy can be applied to this minimal change 24-fret Rhoads. You often hear, "Man, I wish the Rhoads had 24 frets", or "Why didn't Randy design his guitar with 24 frets?", or "The only thing stopping me from buying a Rhoads is the lack of the 23rd and 24th frets". More examples include JCFers wanting to build their own 24-fret Rhoads using an import Rhoads body and a 24-fret 25.5" scale neck. I've helped several people with this by mentioning that they either need to get a 25.5" 22-fret Warmoth neck with the 24 fret fretboard overhang or route their neck pocket deeper and redrill holes to keep the scale length correct, and that the neck pickup will probably be lost during this modification. People are dying for a 24-fret Rhoads. Might be Alexi-influenced, maybe not. I can see myself owning one eventually but I don't think I'd want to go custom shop just for two extra frets and everything else the same as a regular RR1/RR1T.

I've read how the Soloist evolved from the Strat and/or Strat Body shapes, how input from players went into tweaking the Strat-style body to make it more distinct from a Strat by squaring off the body sides, stretching the horns, making deeper cutaways, and adding the 23rd and 24th frets. Okay, so not all Soloists have 24 frets, but you know what I mean. Gradual evolution shapes the a guitar into something else that players will realistically want to play and would want to own and be proud of.

Yea NOTP!
Probably 24fret Rhoads is the last thing Jackson is missing from their production models that many people are wanting to have.
Then maybe the Star shape to follow....

• Re: Welcome Matt\'s Music!!

All in all, it really boils down to the dealers and their decisions on what they want to do as their limited run. Lloyd at GuitarXpress has the one-hum string-thru Rhoads without any input from the JCF. Well, okay, no posts on the JCF suggesting what Lloyd should order. Still, he's got them, and JCFers and the public sees them, and they're being sold! Lloyd must have done something right, and I trust that the JCF dealers will make equal or better choices for their own limited runs for the JCF and public. What they decide on will affect how many they will sell, hopefully all of them!

Lloyd did listen to the member of the JCF. That's how the Bull came about as well as the Road Hazard Rhoads he did.

If there is a USA RR with 24 frets and a floyd, I will want to buy it. I do not care what the pickups or colors are, just about anything would work for me. NO polka dots though.

Actually if I had the money for a CS order I would choose some sort of Trans Purple finish with gold hardware, but that might not go over so well for a bigger run.
