• Jackson Speaker Cabinets

Does anybody in here have information, pictures, etc. on the Jackson speaker cabinets that were available for a short time in the 80's? The speakers have red cones, and the ones I am looking at are a split 4x12 (2 2x12's) with a Jackson logo on the front.

Thanks for any help.

Are you talking about the ones on ebay a little while ago?

I've seen all different kinds of Jackson cabs. I've never seen any literature for them though.

Yes, there was a pair of the 2x12's on ebay, but they are gone. I was just looking for more info on these Jackson cabinets. Jackson made amps back then apparently too, they were tube amps and were built by Laney from what I gather.
Thanks...

All I know is that Scott Danough used to use a Jackson 4x12 and it looks an awful lot like my Laney cabinet.

I recently dumped my 2 Jackson 4x12's. What type of info did you need?

Mine had black speakers. Stereo or mono operation I believe ???? 4-8ohm ????? Not bad cabinets, but not great either. Kind of bogged down when I pushed them.

I am sure I can find some pictures. They were not all that attractive. They did not sound good at high volume. They most certainly did not cut through the mix.

If there is any other bashing I can do for you let me know

Just my opinion:

unless they are real cheap, do yourself a favor and stay away.

Thanks for the info. These are 2 2x12's with red emminence drivers. They have not been pushed ever, but I will keep your "Less than pleased" review in mind. Thanks again

Re: Jackson Speaker Cabinets

I use to own one of the 50 watt amp heads, pretty much like a JCM800 2203 but with some more gain and 2 channels and more options, but nothing close to what is out these days. Overall it sounded good but heavy as hell and bulky....

Re: Jackson Speaker Cabinets

The Jackson 4x12 cabs have alot more depth than any other guitar cab I own..they seem to be at least 2" deeper.
I own a JG3 100watt monster, which will be getting one of the output trannys I got arriving from Bill Sundt to see if it will liven it up some.

My Jackson cab looks alot like this only it came with Celestion 70's.

There's some info in the archives on this as it's been hashed about before.

I was at a pawn shop last week and behold there was a freaking Full stack with the Jackson head.
It looked mint and carefully stored.
The shop wantred a sick amount for it.
Tagged at 2599.99 they told me they'd "take 1800.00"
for it all.

I bet they would.

Even still, it was a site for sore eyes.
I was great seeing it as I walked in.
Just not 1800 great for it all.

( I did touch it and pet it tho

Maybe I'm just having one of those "moments" again, but I seem to remember something about being able to get graphics on the Jackson cabinets. I remember seeing the Wyle E. graphic on 4 four twelve cabs. Kinda like a mural. Maybe it was a one off type deal. Maybe I was just stoned. The heads usually bring about $250 on eBay and the cabs are about the same. $1800 is astronomically high priced, not to mention the $2599.

I agree, it is way out of market. Let it collect dust.
