New recommendable Jackson guitars

Me was told that the new Jackson guitars are not as good as the old Professionals. I have to say that´s the truth but is there no good recommendable Jackson guitar for about 500 - 1000 Euro? Is there no new Jackson guitar which is good enough to prefer it besides an old Jackson Professional guitar? Are they so bad by comparison the new models with the old models?

For $500-$1000 Euro, you can get a minty used USA... much better than the imports, without question. That's almost $1350. Even with shipping and import duties, that leaves you with about $850 to play with.

I think the new MIJ stuff is still good quality stuff, really I think the only major drawbacks are that you dont get ebony boards, MOP inlays, & the DD pickups are not that great either, the old Jackson pickups were much better.

But if you are looking for a neckthru import, the early 90's pros are great, so is the Charvel Model 6. I've also tried the RR5 & SL4 which I thought were great as well.

I think in opposite way ... I played some Pro's, but new MIJ feel better to me. Espeacially MG series, which are way above average.

I also aggree with Hamner, at least ebony would be nice, or maybe OFR.

I like MIJ Jacksons ...

I have a 2004 SL3 and I like it alot. That said, I don't think it's perfect just yet. I'm very strongly considering buying an SL1 to see if I'm missing anything.

I had a Japanese made SL4 New that wasn`t worth the $500 I paid for it. I like the DK-2 better. I would go with an SL1 or 2 or an early 90`s Pro. I like my DK2LE 10 times better thna that SL4 I had. Jack.

For 1150 euros you can get a Pro series from Musicstore in Germany.

You will not find a USA Jackson for that price in Europe. I do have a MD 6 for sale in that pricerange, but I'm not going to advertise it here, since this is not the classifieds.
