• To: JCMI regarding LTD Customs... please read!

First, let me personally thank you for making Jackson USA a much higher quality product! Forum complaints are the lowest I've seen in nearly 4 years here! While there used to be several issues a month (or more), now there are only several issues in the last year alone! VERY COMMENDABLE!

Custom LTD Runs: It would be nice if you could give a decent price break on batches. I'm not asking for USA Select pricing, but a discount of 5-10% on batches of 10 or more guitars would be very popular here and get a lot more 1st time buyers, and repeat buyers and collectors to invest more into the company and their collection.

USA Select LTDs: Would it be too difficult to allow one major change (one hum, rev headstock, neck/inlay type) on an order of 20 or more? I don't think that's asking for much, and when this can happen, you'll be selling guitars to people that may not normally buy a new USA Select, or already have them, AND to the people that only want one change but won't pay custom pricing.

Import LTDs: A run of 100 is difficult even for a lot of dealers to get into. It would be nice if you could reduce that number to 50 so that if we as a group want to do something like this, it'll be extremely difficult, but possible.

We aren't a large percentage of the Jackson buying community, but we are a large percentage of players who own multiple USA and Custom Jacksons... I'm just telling you how you'll sell even more. That can't be a bad thing.

I have 4 USA Customs, one Custom that has just been ordered, and if you are favorable and come up with a solid and mutually beneficial plan for these, another $2000+ order ready to be placed waiting on your decisions.

I wish all at FMIC and JCMI a Merry Christmas!

Thank you!

Nice letter and I like how you brough up the point that many people here own multiple Jacksons. It's nice to remember that when someone says, "well we are such a small percentage of their sales".

If someone here as a couple USA's and a Custom Shop that's about as much profit for them as at least 10 or so imports.

Well said Xeno!

You should send it to Jackson as well.
Like we did couple months ago sending opinions to them.

And, if you still won't allow individual custom strathead orders, will you at least finally allow special ordered stratheads runs? Both are past due, but we'd settle for the latter. I think we could easily sell out a run of at least 20 to 30 from JCF members alone. If only you'd ALLOW it.

Stratheads would be nice in limited runs. Perhaps even an additional license fee/upcharge on the quote form? I mean, if Warmoth is licensed to make Strat Heads legally in the US, it would be a bonus if there was a per instrument license fee for Jacksons. A Squire can be had for $99. Why not charge a $50-$100 license fee that would go to FMIC every time a Jackson was ordered with a Strat headstock.

Exactly, Xeno.

That's the most frustrating thing about the whole strathead thing. It's no longer that they "can't". ...It's that they "won't".

I can get a strathead on a Squire, but NOT a custom Charvel? That's just not logicial.

Yes, keeping the stratheads exclusive to the limited editions gives a "halo effect" product for the entire J/C lineup, as well as them helping resurrect the Charvel brandname itself. Nothing wrong with that in and of itself - it's probably a good strategy. But, for many folks like myself, allowing customs and/or limited dealer runs will NOT cannabilize sales from the limited editions. Otherwise, we're just not buying EITHER. And that means less sales for J/C overall.

Just a) allow it to happen and b) name the upcharge price, already! Please? Pretty please? With sugar on top?

If they don't want to do Srathead Charvel customs, at least offer the option to Jackson logo'd guitars. Paying a license fee is something that Warmoth does. It really would be nice if we could pay a license fee per guitar to have this done.

I agree 100% . I have gone thru 30 - 40 guitars in the last 5-6 years . At least 15 were Jackson . The sad fact is I only bought 1 of those Jacksons new .
If allowed a Jackson Strathead in the morning , I guarantee I would buy more than one !!
The way I am thinking now is -- buy a late 80's Jackson strat -- go to warmoth for a nice neck - swap the necks and logo it myself . This is not to sell on BTW but to play .
I would rather have an official Jackson Strathead than a Charvel Strathead .

I love my Jackson Strathead, and really want to order one that is identical but in white. I've gone through 20+ Jacksons, but the only ones I've kept are Custom Shop guitars. Hence, the reason for my ordering my first Custom. I've bought 3 new Jacksons and Charvels in my time.

The Strathead isn't an issue for me (I prefer the pointy), but I agree that the import LTD batchs could be lowered to 50, that is more feasible for independant shops, I mean GC & MF can do a run of a 100 or more but they are more than 1 shop.

Just in case you missed it; Squire is a Fender product, Jackson/Charvel is a Fender subsidiary - big difference.

Warmoth, AllParts, etc etc parts houses are not in direct competition with Fender, hence the licenses. JCMI is in direct competition with Fender, hence no licences.

Please fellas, let's not despoil the Jackson or Charvel image with "The Other Guy's" headstock. When I play a Jackson or Charvel on stage, I want the audience to know from head to tail it's a Jackson or Charvel.

You missed "the glory days" of Charvel and Jackson when you could get a Strathead without worry. Get over it and move on, please.
