I was reading about Wayne Guitars' raving about how a natural finish makes a much more resonant sounding body, and louder acoustic quality, so I was wondering if there would be any truth to this in the Jackson world.
Two interesting guitars to me right now are the SL2-MAH and PC1. Both mahogany bodies, both offered in natural finishes.
In fact when searching the JCF dealers all history I could find on the previously sold SL2-MAH guitars was that they were all in a natural finish! Might be a coincidence though, I think it looks good but not great in that finish...so to my point:
If you took a solid color SL2-MAH and compared it to a natural one, would the solid color have more clearcoats added on top of it or would they both have the same amount of coats? i.e. would there be a different sound quality to them (assuming the body woods had the same density etc.)
