    I have seen the same cavity used on some active pickup equipped C/J's for the battery and also used as a switch route.

      My Phil Collen Archtop has a similar cavity. Same width, only twice as long.

            My 84' purple Charvel strathead had the same cavity/cover for the battery compartment!!I'll send a pic to Jim!!

                  I never posted a thread about it. I'm new here, and I didn't know that is what I was supposed to do. Opps, I feel like such a newbie... [img]/images/graemlins/baby.gif[/img]

                  Sorry I don't have better pics, but I just got it a month ago and my digital camera died two days before. With the holiday season, I just haven't been able to afford a new one. I bought it from Justin over at JC Guitars, so here are a few pics from his site. The guitar now has a Duncan JB bridge and Lil' 59 neck:
