BTW, does anyone know that EMG offers a 7 string version of the 81? The 707 is a 7 string version of the 85, not 81. I didn't know this, and everywhere I turn everyone is puttin the 707 in the bridge. The 81-7string isn't as widely advertised, you gotta special order it, but I don't think it's more than the 707. Just curious to know if people know about it and still prefer to put the 707 in the bridge.

The 707 is actually like a cross between the 85 and 81. The 7-string 81 was just only in the Stephen Carpenter ESP models, but I think you can get it separately now.

Oh, ok. I guess with everyone putting an 85 in their bridge these days it's not too far off then if the 707 is a cross from both of em. Ok, cool

Why must they all be string-thru. Guess it's off to get a CS quote for me, YAY for spending money!

This is how I feel when I look at the predominance of Floyd-equipped guitars. I'm all for more tune-o-matics. I can always slap a Kahler on if I want a trem, but I can't even tolerate a blocked Floyd.

My thoughts exactly.
I'm so happy that recently a few new string-thru models have appeared.
Got my JS30WR already, a DK-6 might follow soon... and I'm dreaming of a KV-2T as well. Mahogany string-thru's, here I come!
Someone is doing something right in the Jackson camp, oh yes.

Yes! I so badly want a KV string-thru, but not with the square inlays and 3+3 headstock. I want the lead singer rib-cracker headstock and sharkies.

Hey maliciousteve Lots of thx for the reply will try to get hold of one soon ..... Hey Do you have any sound clips of the pickup in action?

[/ QUOTE ]

You could listen to some Death songs. Or you could go to my bands site and listen to the song. The X2N is the guitar with more bass to it, not the whispy type guitar.

I think it pretty funny that the next guitar I'll probably end up buying is a signature model of a guitar player I don't like in a band I can't stand. Nice axe though!!!

I think that will be true for most of the people who buy them. Hell it's probably true for most signature guitars with the exception of JEM/UV, Satriani Ibanez's, Mustaine V's, and maybe the Kirk Hammett ones (though that one is debateable as a lot of people don't like him at this point in time, but did some years ago). Either that or I'm not being objective since I hate everything that has been popular since Nirvana so of course I won't like most endorsers!

Yeah, but the DK-6 for me is just a nice guitar, nothing fancy.
I'd never want a Kevin Bond Rhoads, with all the signature inlays and Superjoint Logo and stuff.
But a plain archtop string-thru Dinky with a blank ebony board can't be wrong, who cares if some dude designed it as his signature.

They shouldn't even make one hummed guitars.

If you don't like the 2nd hum, take it out, put tape over the hole or something.
