• and there were 2................

I'm going to purchase a new guitar today or tomorrow. I've checked with all of the dealers to discuss stock, shipping, etc.

it is now between 2.

USA Select King V KV2 vs. USA Select Soloist SL2H

Both have Floyd Rose Trem systems.

The main purpose will be for recording and home use. Basically which one would you choose? I know there will be a lot of discussion about V's vs. standard guitars and so forth. Please keep in mind that I set with the guitar in the classical position any way.

Basically what would you choose and why?
I'll let you all know what Finishes that I have decided between later.

Thanks!

I like the neck on the KV's and I'm a pointy guitar only guy. Everyone has Soloists too. SL's are a little nicer to play sitting down though. Also take into acct. the pups equipped on each. The case on the SL's is smaller which is nice too.

I voted the SL. It would be easier to transport it around. I find strat shapes to be more comfortable nower days. I already play guitars in the classical position so that doesn't bother me.

The KV has a 'speed neck' which is thinner, so to a degree it depends on your preference.....
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

I won't be transporting the guitar anywhere. it will only be used for home use and recording. I just want to buy the best guitar that I can at the moment.

Well, both guitars are equal to each other. They just offer a few different options: body shape, neck, etc. One is not better or worse than the other. For me, traditional style guitars are just my thing. But I don't think you can go wrong either way.

The Soloist is cheaper, it wins.

Personally I'd go with the Soloist, they're just more comfortable for knocking around the house.

and yet another vote for the soloist, I have an sl2H, and an SL1 and they are the ones I always end up playing the most.
If this is our perdition, will you walk with me?

I chose the soloist, basically because you said this:

[/ QUOTE ]

It's so much easier to wield a soloist shape around compared to the larger KV, especially when working in a smaller space. Don't get me wrong, I love the V's as well as explorers, etc, but they need more room to breathe...like a stage!

I love my SL2H and wouldn't mind getting another one or two. I just prefer the soloist shape over the V.

Neither. IF you really like the classical position, an RR is the way to go.

I'd choose the KV... you can set it down, and it won't slide over and fall.

Very important if you're around the studio or house, and need to set it down somewhere you don't readily have a stand.
