That stuuf is kinda wild, like if GMW started a serious Gibson thing. I have never really paid attentiuon to GMP (and probably would not have even looked at these if the pics had been posted in the "Others" section).

      Thanks for sharing.

Why is it that GMP can do "round horns" and "F-birds" and Jackson can not??

                [/ QUOTE ]

I'll take a guess... GMP and BC Rich aren't really large companies. Jackson wasn't either until the acquisition, and I bet the reason they stopped making them when they did was because Fender had made a declaration to them that if they continued making them, they would not consider buying Jackson due to fears of lawsuits from Gibson. The fact that Fender IS a large corporation, and taking Jackson under their blanket would make Fender a target of a lawsuit from Gibson, something they probably wouldn't think would be too profitable, and something that probably WOULD have happened if they had been making them at the time of the acquisition. Normal sales of these trademarked body designs by the small company don't present much of a revenue issue to Gibson alone, but one of these companies in a large corporation's control IS something that they would worry about.

Then again, I'm just guesstimating, but I think I'm pretty spot-on for the timing of events... Jackson stopping these body shapes, and the eventual sale of Jackson to FMIC.
