Oh, I forgot, Maple neck, mahogany body, Made in USA, neck is wide, but not super thin, more like a PRS standard carve, but a little more comfortable. Has meat and speed to it. The input jack is recessed.

The resale value is crap. How's that for ground breaking info?

Em, you got yours for under 900? I'm offering mine for under 350$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeppers... $847 with shipping I believe it was.
I've seen yours, Deneb! If I were in the market for another guitar right now I would be considering it!
I love all the JJs, I'm particular to that body style too.
Mine is different than yours though, what drives the price up is the neck-thru design, brand new/mint condition, custom graphic, ebony fretboard, custom Duncans... yadda yadda... you know.

I thought the pickups in mine were El Diablos... is there a difference between those and the Custom Scott Ian Duncans?

Em, yours is spiffy doodle, and that factors heavilly in pricing.

There is 1 of those rare JJ5 guitars at my local GC. It is dead mint. It is the one that shows up on EBAY. They have had it for about a year now I think. They have a price tag of $1300. I think that is why they still have it. I would consider it at $750-800 though. I thought they were rare but I had know idea there was only 3 made.

I'm curious about the Scott Ian endorsement. Mine has the extortion logo, dice inlay, normal JJ headstock, is #0330JJ which wouldn't seem to be particularly early, and yet doesn't have Scott's head & sig. Did his endorsement come later than #330 or did he not endorse the bolt-ons?

[/ QUOTE ]
That's interesting I always thought the extortion logo and dice inlay's came about from the Scott Ian endorsement. He did endorse the bolt on JJ1s though, my JJ1 is similar to yours, but it has 2 humbuckers, a Wilkinson trem and Scott's head & sig on the headstock.

There was only 3 of the JJ5s made?? I know Pete (Twisteramps) won one of them and then wound up selling it later on.

Someone here (I think it's Fender's Brian McDonald) owns the prototype JJP that was originally intended for Marty Friedman... it's got the dice inlay at the 12th fret, natural mahogany body. I've got a pic somewhere of that. I guess Marty wanted one of those before he got his full-size custom Jackson Les Paul.

Yours is a bolt on JJ1 - Em has a neck through JJ2 with a badass finish.

I don't care if the guitar has harmony pickups, a styrofoam fretboard, and a krylon spray job, ANY USA Jackson should go for more than 500$.
