• KVX10D quality questions.

I was wondering since the KVX10D is Japan made now. Does that mean it is built just as well as the other higher priced bolt-on Japanease Jackson's ala DK-2? Same wood?

I played one at GC a month back, and I have to say they're about a bazillion times better than the junk they replaced. Sound, feel, look...take your pick.

I have one... it is a great guitar all around!
Sounds great, feels great, looks great too, although of course not as fancy as higher priced Jacksons.

I can really recommend it.

KVX10, ya mean.

They've been MIJ since 2002, where ya been?

Yeah, they are alder with a maple neck, the build quality is all good, even the Duncan Design pups don't sound half-bad. No binding though, but I'm fixing that on mine...

When working on that binding on your hot-rodded KVX10, be careful not to seperate the poplar top from the pressed particle-alder center. I have made that mistake, and had to turn mine into an oar.

I did a few "trick" modifications to my KVX, including a custom red paint job. If I thought I could get $3500, I'd list it in the Classifieds.

I was going to get a custom truss rod cover with "SW1" on it, but it turned out that the original cover was stapled on so I just got stickers.

Did the "D" in the model number stand for "Dandy?"

Did you count me twice, or Germandeth twice, as I see only two. Or is the lacquer from the bind-o-rama 2005 job getting to ya? Did I spell bind-o-rama correctly?

The "D" in KVX10D stands not for dandy, but for "don't". As in, KVX10Don't bother adding binding. I think I read that in Kerrang or Circus. Framus Surpula from the eastern Norwegian dark/funeral metal band Unholy Deathsmell played a KVX10D.

Hmmm, let's see, you are twice the A-hole, so I guess I counted you twice!

BTW, I am not adding binding to the neck, I'm replacing the neck with one that has factory binding.
