    Re: Latest creation...green HRF. PICS!

The width is 1 5/8 and pretty slim compares to many other older Charvels.
I have a neck only picture of that which was taken several years ago.
If Tom wants, I will post it.

Holy Shit! I LOVE that guitar. Now I need to get a HRF (I really need to stop looking at pics). Very well done.

BTW, If the nut width is 1 5/8s like Dinky says, please let me know if you ever decide to part with it!

                      Tom, That is just fantastic!

As I mentioned before.... I had been thinking of building really the exact guitar. I would hate to do a clone of yours....so I guess I'm re-thinking my project, but Damn that looks good.

I would have gone for all chrome hardware and a double creme pickup.......but the gold will look good if you go that route.

                        Re: Latest creation...green HRF. PICS!

Thanks for the nice remarks and opinions. To answer questions asked...
                        - Toru, go ahead and post the neck pics if ya have some.
I don't know the specs but it is a very easy neck to play; I don't like particularly fat necks but I also don't like necks that are too thin. This is a typical, high quality, nice playing Charvel neck. I knew it was Grover's neck but I don't know any of the details about that so I opted to leave that out.
                        - The red drop is actually our microsuede bedspread and it may, in fact, be influencing how the colors are seen to your eyes.
                        - I used a GMW body that I got in a trade with Tom Skinner. He sent me a complete guitar....body was all black, single hum, SD Charvel rosewood neck. I pulled this unreal maple figured neck off of the Charvel pre-pro checkered explorer and put it on the grn hrf. The explorer know has the rosewood boarded, real SD Charvel neck. I believe that the rosewood actually makes the explorer more accurate as a restored guitar anyway.
                        - Yes, the action is very high but I went with a heavy bottom and light top custom string set of Blue Steels. Like 58-9s. I have it set as low as I can get it so I'll take it to the guys who normally set my guitars up and have him drop it a bit. This one will be tuned to drop D permanently.
                        - Newc, Thanks for the link. I love gold hardware on a hot rodded strat so I may order an ofr in gold.
                        - Bsteff- You are more than welcome to do one exactly like this or, since there are several different types of HRF patterns, you might try one of those patterns instead. Like the guitar in the pic on CC currently; that flame type doesn't branch off the same as this one. Like the way Jackson does on their newer import Dinkys.
                        - Thanks again for the opinions. I will post the Dime Charvel pics when it gets here. Incidentally, I will be using either a reverse strathead Warmoth neck or the rosewood SD neck that's on the explorer. Ideally, I'd like a maple/maple, logo'd Charvel neck, NOS or otherwise for that guitar so if anyone would like to work up a trade for my SD Charvel rosewood neck, let me know. I'd even consider a blank GMW neck with a normal strathead.

Fantastic guitar! I think you should keep the black hardware.

Here are the pics from couple of years ago when I had.
Later it was used for my Quilt Blue GMW Strat project(Mick Mars Replica Charvel as I used to call it..) and that guitar was sold to Monte.
