As stated in the first post of this thread, it will be a few months. We do these updates all at once rather than trickling them in, and this update is going to be a biggie.
Keep in mind this is a "spare time" project; I have a full time job, a full time family, and I also like to actually pick up a guitar and bass once in a while.
I think most people on this forum will agree that the original release and the first update were both worth the wait, and this one will be too.
So relax, and be patient.

Good Lord! The rod up that man's butt must have a rod up its butt!
Great work! If you are open to suggestions, the option of a wrap around tail piece like on a LP Junior would be a great addition, imo. Also, ever think of marketing the finished cd to Jackson or their dealer network?
Thanks for your efforts, Alex. The generator is really a lot of fun and it looks fantastic. So often free software is worth about what one pays for it, but your generator is awesome!

Is there already a website for the older version? And is this the Jackson kisekae thingy where we can design our own Jacksons?

imo, this crushes the kisekae generator, but i'm biased. i know that site uses pictures, where eric drew all of the stuff. anyway, yeah. i'm biased.
I find that using both our CS Generator and Kisakae together (plus some PSP) yields great results. Examples of what I've done using this method:
Mucho love for AlexL, here. And I also love Kisakae.
And I ask, is that so wrong?
I just wanted to let everyone know that the Custom Shop Generator is starting to undergo some updates. I have begun adding some features to the existing generators, and after that, new body styles will be added.

Alex (Eric?),
I did not know that you are the CSG Guru!! Wow! You do killer work. I know how it is to be busy with family and work and playing and and and... Then to have a project like this as well and find the time to work on it can be tricky, even if it is fun.
So thanks a bunch!

Yup, its me. Thanks for the kudos. I try to not go on and on about it, especially the whole "I do this on my own time" blah, blah, blah. I know our admins put in way more work per year just keeping the board going than I do working on the generator, so I try to just shut up and get some work done. The reality, though, is that it is very time intensive. A while back there was a thread where I kind of exploded at a few members who seemed to think that these changes happen overnight, and I just sit around all day waiting for requests (we're cool now, BTW, I have no hard feelings towards anyone). Crawling out of the woodwork to do posts like this can unintentionally start a barrage of criticism and out-and-out demands for new features. Hence, I usually keep a low profile.
Now, I certainly don't mind suggestions on new features, even though sully (my main admin contact) and I usually have a fairly good road map laid out months in advance. But the reality is, if they are too time consuming to implement, I won't do them. Not because I don't know how, but because I have a personal and professional life that keeps me very busy. I had a great suggestion from a forum member to do a double neck, but the reality is, I would have to alter the core functionality too much, and I just don't see taking the time to do it. Anything is possible, depending on when and how my creative urges hit. But I have to be realistic.
But, before I start to sound like a whiner, I do enjoy working on it, and I have learned a lot of skills in the process of creating it. And I wouldn't make any updates to the generator at all if I didn't get the praise from forum members like yourself, the others who posted here, and the admins. Knowing that I am providing a tool for, in my opinion, the best damn guitar forum on the internet, is an honor. I will do my best, within reason, to make sure that this and future revisions do not disappoint.
So, during the update process, I usually do one or two posts like this one, just so everyone knows that it is an "active" part of the forum, and to keep your eyes peeled for the big release notice. After that, I usually don't mention it unless someone asks.
