Many of you have probably heard the story of how a certain Hot Rod Flames Charvel was destined for Jeff Beck back in the day. But, for one reason or another, it never ended up in his hands.
Well, I've always loved the Soloists that JB played then. However, with the big release of the USA Charvel line Winter NAMM of '04, I really wanted to order another Charvie again. So I ended up with a pretty simple and, IMHO, cool concept: What if Jeff had ended up playing stripped-down and hot-rodded Charvels, instead of those Soloists of his? What would they have looked like?
The inspiration...
The result of my re-imagining...
Specs:
Charvel Strat
"Jeff Beck Orange" paint
Matching headstock with black logo
1H & 1SC - Duncan Custom & Classic Stacked
1 volume and 3-way toggle
22 fret oiled neck
Ebony fretboard, MOP dot inlays
Original Floyd, non-recessed
Black hardware
I don't know if you can make it out in the pics, but it looks like they either have the headstock capped and painted over, or orange on black. The effect makes it look like a very thin line of black outlining the head. Very cool looking. Original-style 3-D plate. An amazingly smoking guitar. Many thanks again to Matt's Music.
