Why don't you just throw a single up front and throw a SCR-1 Cool Rail in there? It's nice and puchy when you play it loud and it's all good for some whaly sound when you want it...ala Slash. Probably do a push pull put and get tone wired to the pull so you only have one knob? Then you'll have plenty of room to paint picture on dah gitar.

1 hum with 1 vol is absolutely good choice!!!
