Re: Happy St Patrick\'s Day Yo You all
Guinness! I love Guinness extra stout. Not that 'draught' stuff that comes with the rocket widget full of nitrogen. Although it is interesting from an engineering standpoint. Just doesn't taste right. And not cold...has to be cellar temp. Why do people refrigerate their Guinness? Gah, here I am stuck and work and now I'm jonesing for a beer...and it's only 9:23a!

Re: Happy St Patrick\'s Day Yo You all
I thought he was English...captured by the Irish as a boy in a raid and enslaved for a few years until he escaped back to England. Then went back to Ireland to convert the whole country to Catholicism. Maybe he studied at the Vatican?
Anyway, Mark/Steve/and the other Irish on this board, I am going to a party (host is Irish and was born on St. Patty's day) and drinking much Guinness in your country's honor!

Just for the record, "Jackson" is very much an Irish surname.
(Michael excluded, of course)

[ QUOTE ]
I thought he was English.
[/ QUOTE ]
Clarification: I'm not speaking to his nationality, but his heritage. His parents were Romans - Calphurnius and Conchessa. Calphurnius belonged to a Roman family of high rank, and was stationed in Roman-occupied England. Hence, St. Patrick was of Italian ancestry. Whether he was actually born in Italy, England, or Ireland is a subject of debate.
