Re: Help on choosing a neck

I have a reverse maple strathead with black dots. However, I won't be in Roch anytime soon after the recent snowfall you guys got but you should be able find one on eBay or on Warmoths site, they may still have one for sale. I know I've seen them in both places over the last few months.
The reverse maple is kinda Gunslingerish and is cool but the ebony looks the best to me.
That looks like Kevins old couch btw.

Hey Tom, What kind of neck is it? If you are selling I might be interested. And the couch is not from Kevin, I have the huge reciept to prove it!

Re: Help on choosing a neck

I posted a few pics of it on here over last summer, I think it may be from customwoods. I picked it up from MGR locally and was tentatively planning to put it on a black Dimarzio body as it fits like a glove. They were selling it as a Charvel neck, but the dots are a little wide for it. To be honest, I wouldn't even know how much to ask for it given the unknown maker. I haven't decided if I am selling it for sure tho...just mentioning it.
I've since coffee stained the wood and danish oiled it but it still needs a little finish work. I could swing down and let ya see how a reverse strat looks since I'm in Roch every few months or so and I may come down for Easter.

Man, you and Kevin seem to have the same taste in furniture.

Although I'm not a big reverse headstock fan, I think the reverse with maple board looks best.

I usually am a pointy fan, but I have to say with your paint the strathead looks really good!

Maple reverse because of the colors involved.
-With the ebony, you go from the bright green to the black parts of the graphic and pickups to the black board to the black headstock - like a cone with a sharp point, which doesn't match the roundness of the body.
-With the Maple Reverse, you have the maple board in there to act as a balance between the blackness, and the black headstock acts as a "stop".
-With the Strathead, you go from bright green and dark black to all maple and it sort of dissipates without a defined "end" to the color.
