There is a shop on 23rd Street near 8th ave called Chelsea Guitars. Hole in the wall, but some cool old stuff. You are just not allowed to touch any of it or walk near it.

And when he says "hole in the wall," believe it. Man was I caught off guard when I walked in there one time. They did have a BC Rich 10 string Bich I nearly wet myself over, but other than that, nothing.

They'll let you play stuff in there. I came thisclose to buying a '55 Tele in there last year. It's 3 blocks from my office ;-) But to echo, 48th St. sucks, all of th eold shops where bought out by Sam Ash, and even Manny's is actually owned by Sam Ash. The street is a con these days.

Go to Music Zoo and Guitar Asylum.....Mind you Guitar Asylum has two locations about twenty minutes apart. If you can I suggest you go there on the weekend to avoid traffic on the Long Island Expressway. Music Zoo is closed on Sun and Monday.
