• Opinions on the Signature Series?

I am a "for the same money, buy a used USA" kind of guy, but the new Kevin Bond edition kicks ass!

Anyone think I will be disapointed in the quality or playability? I am a little nervous since I would have to order one (no one has any in stock). What is the quality of these? Any thoughts?

Looks to me like it'd be exactly like an RR5, just with a different bridge, electronics, and finish scheme/inlays. The ebony fretboard and binding doesn't hurt either.

          Ummm... Yeah...

RR5, sharkfins on rosewood, no binding, pinstripes, and string thru with dual hums

KB: Pentagrams on ebony, binding, painted bevels and a fine tuning hardtail with one hum...

LOL....that reminds me of the video of the Moscow Peace Festival from 89. Vince Neil is in a plane looking out over the lanscape and says something like "It's just like LA, but different"....that still cracks me up....

This sig looks the goods. Is it also neck-thru? That's great. Very much like the LTD's, imports offering some cool features.

I really dig the KB RR, but I am waiting for them to show up and get some reviews before I make a decision.

If that's so, will the neck be fatter? Mohagany is weaker than Maple, so you'd need a thicker neck to keep it straight.

3 piece necks, I believe. I'd actually be interested in buying one, but the single hum layout and inlays kill it for me. Pretty cool design nonetheless, though.

Since NOBODY has played a production model so far (they were intorduced @NAMM and are´t in stores yet AFAIK), any answer you could recieve would be pure speculation.

I ASSUME they´re good, knowing what Jackson Japan quality is like. But again, there´s essentially nobody that can say for sure

Re: Opinions on the Signature Series?

I wanted the leaf inlays on the green one, but Fender won't do it. I would have settled for fins, or no inlays, or iron crosses...just about anything but that stupid pentagram.

The pentagram inlays is one of the things I dig about it. My line of thinking is that not many people are going to get one because of that. I am afraid that will make them both hard to come by and a limited production run. I was hoping someone here had an inside scoop on one for some impressions, 'cause I think if I really want one I am going to have to pony up.

Maybe this is old news, but I just noticed that the signature-series section of the Jackson website is updated. Nice pictures
