Great post, Kev. I'd like to think that I exercise consideration & restraint when posting - I know I've occasionally written long-winded, sometimes mean-spirited, posts and when it came to the crunch, have fortunately (usually) hit "back" rather than "continue". But even then, occasionally one slips through.

It's good to be reminded of the effect a thoughtless action can have on others. We obviously don't want to be walking on egg shells when we post around here, but it's all a question of degrees, isn't it? A small thing at our end can amplify to a massive one by the time it has cross those millions of miles of fiber optics. An offhanded comment, or a casual insult in a heated situation, could be just the thing to tip a normally sane person over the edge. Because this place has such a sense of community, it's usually not too hard to see if a regular's post seems out of character. Obviously until a person has posted for a while, it's harder to recognise - to tell from their post if they are pissed off or if they just have a dry sense of humour, or whatever.

Everyone needs to read this, if you didnt quite get it, read it again. It is a massive job to keep a place like this open and running smoothly, and above all else friendly. Any bigger community ends up with a no tolerance system because it already has numbers, and needs order. Every place has assholes, dicks and pussys. Work out which one you are and make sure its not too extreme or interfering with anyone. Then we can all have a good day. Like when seventhson gets a vagina avatar. Any post you make will not change the world. It wont change the people at the end of it if thats its intention. Except for kevs starter thread, hopefully.

Well said, very articulate, and spot on! This is the best board I have ever seen. The admins do an amazing job IMHO. You guys truly do the best job of any board I have ever seen. You filter what needs to be, but still allow the members to express themselves freely. Kudos! This thread should be locked aat the top of every catagory!
