Uhhhh, 79: kinda like this one?....

Hoping you're talking about something different. If not, dude, let me introduce you to the Charvel Bullseye run from GuitarExpress. Announced early last year, the first 10 shipped recently, and mine's #6. A few are still available. ...If that's what it was, you were probably looking at one of the next batch.

Re: Stratheads are at NAMM!!!!

I don't mean to sound harsh but... Where have you been??? A lot of talk about these on the JCF for months. Many folks posted pics of theirs a week or two ago, when they were received.

P.S.- KMaynard's the man to talk to about these, if you've got questions. He basically put the project together with Lloyd from GXP. Here's a link to them:

Re: Stratheads are at NAMM!!!!

I'm sure there were Stratheads at NAMM, and I'm also 90% sure they were sitting within the same booth as Jackson pointy heads...remember, Fender owns Jackson now.

Which begs the question - why not release some Jackson and Charvel Stratheads? Who is Fender going to sue? Themselves?

Evolver.. there has already been PAGES AND PAGES of discussion and some of the Fender guys THEMSELVES came and cleared up the fact that THERE WILL NEVER BE ANY STRATHEAD CHARVELS OR JACKSONS!

I'm sure there were Stratheads at NAMM, and I'm also 90% sure they were sitting within the same booth as Jackson pointy heads...remember, Fender owns Jackson now.

Re: Stratheads are at NAMM!!!!

To a degree, that statememnt is not far off..
Jackson/CHarvel/Fender share the same room on the third floor at NAMM. THere are 4 Custom Shop Fender strats that feature: Single hum.top route, vintage trem, and strat headstock

I spoke with Donny today about the whole JCF 02 Fiascal and he kinda blew me off.. It sounded like he was tryimg to blame everyone else for it not happening.
I also bumped into a former SD builder/desighner who claims to have worked with Alan Holdsworth in desighning the Holdsworth Charvel. Nice fella, very cordial and polite.

Played the NAMM show BUllseye: SHAWING!!!
What a great playing guitar! You guys are very lucky who were fortunate enough to order one. Kudos to Lloyd for putting that together.

Star struck: Met and talked at length with Michael Angelo today. He is endorsed by Dean and they built him a VERY COOL blue flametop double neck V. He wanted you all to know that he is still VERY close to Wayne Charvel and owns EVERY Ritz/Charvel that Wayne ever built except for the one that was stolen from him. He sasid the only ones he ever sold were the "crappy" Aria Pro models.

I also bumped into Dave Amato at the Gibson booth. He said he used to love Jacksons but his REO songs don't require a shredd profile anymore.

Jim Marshall is also up here sighning Marshall t-shirts at the Marshall booth.

Saturday is supposed to be the best day for stars as Van Hasbeen, Lynch and a host of other players are supposted to be up here.

So far, I have to say ESP has the best new stuff. They have TONS of custom graphic stuff that rivals the early days of Charvel.

Dean has all their poster chics up here so that worth stopping by to cop a quick chubby

BTW , I lost Doc about 4 hours ago and have no clue if I'll see him again the rest of the trip so if anyone sees him here at Namm, point him in my direction!

Anyone cominf up Saturday: You'll spot me by my Kramer 'Nuff Said shirt. It has the 5150 paint job on it.

Hey 79: was the bullseye the only USA Charvel shown at NAMM? Very disappointed, if that's the case.

Yeah, I was referring to Fender guitars when I said there were Stratheads present. Someone had already said that the Jackson booth was obviously arranged within, or as part of, the Fender booth.

And sorry if the question I posed had been thrashed to death already - I just don't get around on this forum as much anymore...

Re: Stratheads are at NAMM!!!!

The bullseye Charvel was the only pointy USA Charvel at the show. It was hanging along with about 4 or 5 others that I was told were USA Charvels, but they all had the funny shaped headstock of the Journeyman/ModelA so I didn't even look at them closely (I can't get into that headstock!). Brooks should be getting pics tomorrow. There was an awesome Charvel USA tele with maple fingerboard with trucker 'nekid ladies' inlays in abalone (you can just see this to the right of Brooks' pic of the 'homeplate/bat' guitar). I referred to the bullseye/pointy and asked if this will be coming back and was told good things in store for summer....

Also interesting, since they are in the same booth, Fender's line-up looks like its leaning towards Jackson. I can't ever remember seeing sooo many fenders without pickguards! They have a new Showmaster Series in both Fender and Squire that don't have pickguards. The Squire line has one with skull/crossbone inlay (think ESP) and skull graphic, reverse stratheads w/floyds. Theres even Fender USA Teles with no pickguard and two humbuckers. And the Fender custom shop stuff was unreal, colors/graphics/trick inlays/painted headstocks/ebony fingerboards/etc.
