Re: Kahler USA is open for business!

Anyone know how these "new" ones differ from the "new" ones made in the last 90s (if at all)?

Wow, they even have the Flyer!! I wonder if that is Imported or not? I think that is the one with less adjustments? Anyway, I wonder if Jackson will start offering them again? I know Carvin said NO because Kahler keeps going in and out of the Trem business, not sable enough to offer them again. That is a shame, as I would order a Carvin DC125 with one!! Thanks-Jack.

I wish I had a Carvin catalog from the late 80's as I don't remember the Kahler equipped guitars costing more than the Floyd equipped counterparts...

Re: Kahler USA is open for business!

I'm glad for all the Kahler fanatics that they are back in operation. I just sold my '85 Soloist w/Kahler. The trem on that one was still very functional even after years of obvious heavy play, but it was a bit worn looking. I was constantly searching eBay for used ones, as well as parts, to have my own stash or maybe even replace the whole thing with a unit in better shape. But things were getting a bit "thin on the ground" on eBay compared to a few years ago--seems like the online Kahler parts bin had pretty well hit bottom.

And I'm really glad to see that they are making the 3310 fixed bridge versions again. If you want a fixed bridge guitar at a great price, you can get a classic '80s Jackson w/Kahler and simply retrofit a 3310 on it.

Yep, get a Kahler'ed model 6 and turn her into a nice neck-thru hard tail.

Actually, the Carvin Pro was cheaper than the Floyd in those days. The Kahlers are very expensive now. I wouldn`t mind paying $150 for a Pro, but not the prices they are charging now. Jack.

I've got a Carving catalog from '92. For the DC 127, it was a $100 upgrade for the Carvin/Floyd (looks like a Kahler Steeler, but can't be sure) and a $130 upgrade for a Kahler. A Kahler 4 string bass trem was a $150 upgrade.

Oh, Jeezus. They even brought back the Floyd rip-off. The "killer." Yeah, whatever.

Gah. I hope I don't run into a situation where there's a new guitar I want, except that it has a Kahler. I run into that problem a lot on used stuff.

If kahler's back then ESP can start putting them on Jeff H's signature model instead of the Floyd!

I wish Charvel and Jackson didn't use those fugly POS's. Many a nice guitar killed by a Kahler...

It is really nice to see them back in business, but what the hell is up with those prices? A new Floyd Rose original can be had for half that, how do they think they are going to compete?

                              Because they're nice bridges.
