UPS sucks, regarless. I spend about $50K a year, some years $100k with UPS, and their customer service blows goats. They are the worst. And don't even try to collect on a damage claim. Once again, UPS sucks. That's why I'm switching to Fedex Ground.
This UPS crap is ridiculous! How did they even know that the guitar had any inlays at all? How do they know its not an SL2 with no inlays?
Anyway, Joel we're all in your corner here on JCF. I hope your V arrives soon.
Damn scary story! Hope they didn't carv out the inlays and send it out with big holes in the board I wouldn't be surprised from what i read so far
This is pure BS hope you get it in the same condition it was sent out in
Alright guys...good news and not so good....
The good news is I've received a call from home that the guitar has arrived and is safely inside the house now. The package doesn't look damaged just looks like it was opened and not taped back up that well....
The not so good...is right after work today I've got the King Diamond show at the HOB that I'm going to straight from work....then after the show I'm staying at the girl's place....so I won't be able to inspect it until after work tomorrow....just my luck again....
But it's good to know it's at home....thanks for the good vibes, secret sauce, and mojo guys! A full review will be posted tomorrow after work for sure....
Jeez! Now we have to wait till tomorrow! Just kiddin bro, enjoy the show tonight!
I just read the whole story and I must say that what happened is unbelieveable, to say the least. I'm glad it's home now and please...post some pics. I'm sure a lot of brothers here would like to see it! Cheers
If it was me, I'd hafta pass on the KD show (even if I WAS a fan) just because of the hassle and worry I've already been through. I doubt I'd be able to concentrate on anything else until I saw it myself.
I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood
The most human thing we can do is comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.
Yeah I've got this nervous feeling inside of me...but in an hour I'll have beer flowing all around me so that'll help easy my worrying...I might head home after the show instead of the woman's place though....
Joel, if I were you, I would just leave the work an hour earlier and check the guitar to make sure before the Show at HOB.
Sully and Alex(Paddok)'s guitars were shipped about 1week later than Joel's but arrived before Joel's(they took 5-6days).
Alex's Jackson(Custom Shop) has the same MOP inlays too.
So it was very strange.
Some packages even went faster in the past and some guitars took only 3days to NY and Boston area.
Damn...did your UPS tracking info show anything about fish and wildlife at all? You should see the info for my axe...I guess I was just the "lucky one" to get screwed by this BS...and have to deal with the bitch who takes her fish inspecting job waaaaay too seriously. Definitely post some pics when you get a chance Sully...never laid my hands on a real Gibby LPC yet.
I agree with Newc, maybe give the concert tix to a friend or something, go home right away after work to inspect the package (and take pics every step of the way for documentation), skip the show, and you would have plenty of time to go to your friend's place. (and once you get there, you can celebrate that the guitar is safe and sound, or get some "consolation" if worst comes to worst )
