• Ordered a Jackson DK2L, question about shipping...

    Hello guys,

hope everyone is doing well. I posted a similar thread in the Imports section, but I think I might get better replys here. Anyway, I order a Jackson DK2L about a month ago. Please check out the details of it here: http://www.jcfonline.com/ubbthreads/...&page=0#441366

I talked to the guy whom I ordered the guitar through at the Guitar Center, and he said that on the order confirmation form, the date given to them by Jackson to ship out the guitar is May 7th. This means that the GC should get the guitar in like 5 days after it.

So, my question to you guys is, what is your experience with these dates given to me. Whether its by the Guitar Center or by Jackson, what kind of delays should I expect on this and are there anyways to expedite this order? This is my first electric guitar ever, so I'm very inexperienced with the ordering process and etc, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks for reading!

P.S; Newc, I'm surprised you didn't respond to this thread over in the imports section, bro. . Out of all the members here, I think you pleaded the most with me to finally order this guitar. Anyway, hope to see your input here bro.

I think no one can answer you because nobody orders their guitars through Guitar Center anymore.

Lol NOTP, thanks for replying man. Although forgive me, I didn't quite understand what you are saying. Oh well, lets just see what happens. Thanks for replying.

JCFers tend to refer other JCFers to our official JCF Dealers when doing business. We like to support the little guys with the great service and promises for that peace of mind.

Man, I couldn't agree more about the great service of the JCF dealers. It's just that GC gave me a good deal and is a store where I can personally see the guitar when getting it. If I don't like it, I can return it and if I wanted to do that with the JCF dealers, I would have had to ship it and stuff. Anyway, its a Jackson nonetheless, and boy am I proud that its my first electric guitar. Thanks again for replying.

Alright, but make sure you're still going to take potential advantage of the return policy, since there's a good chance you're not going to want to return it once you see it. I've been there and I've seen friends there too. They're so smitten at the sight of their first [electric] guitar right in front of them, ready to be bought within moments, that they may overlook a few "issues" (with persuasion of a charismatic seller/salesperson who probably doesn't give a rat's ass about their customer regardless of what they say) even though their mind, reason, and gut feeling tells them that it's not worth it. They just wanted their instrument RIGHT NOW.

Patience is a virtue. In the meanwhile, start shopping for an amp to keep you occupied if you haven't begun to.

Well NOTP, once again thanks for your reply. I guess that when I get my guitar, I will post the pictures of it and ask you guys all sorts of question. If there are any flaws with the guitar then you guys are bound to find it with my descriptions. In that way, I could use the return policy in that case. Of course I understand what you mean by being deluded by the way whole first electric guitar thing. Once again thanks for your reply. Take care.

What I'm saying is that you've waited THIS long already to get your first Jackson so don't be overcome by careless impatience. More than likely there will be nothing wrong with your order and you'll have it at the promised day, give or take a week.

You've done your research (about a year's worth of posting about wanting a lefty Jackson if I've kept track correctly ) and asked a lot of educated questions so there really shouldn't be much to worry about at all. Perhaps next time you'll have more confidence that you'll want to join us in buying online where the selection and competition is virtually unlimited.

Dear NOTP, thanks for replying. Man, your post has really made me feel great about my purchase. I know that there won't be anything wrong with the order since its a Jackson, but you are right I won't get carried away or overwhelmed by its Aura Rest assured, I will need your help, especially since I wanna swap the bridge pickup out and I have no idea how to do that and wheather or not should I do it or not. I guess you could point me in the direction of where to start from. Rest assured thanks again for your reply.

Hey come on Ron. He is the only one answering me, why are you trying to scare him off?

Also, when you worked at GC, do you recall anything about the special order dates and delivery from the Fender and Jackson side? Thanks man!

Only that I was quoted 4 weeks on my KVX10, and it only took 2.
