How about trying to keep the xtrr and also get a model charvel that you doesn´t have to worry as much about? (if you can afford it that way)

model 5-6 mine has been to hell & back

still plays great & there no finish on the back of the neck or headstock.

They're a pretty rare guitar as far as eBay finds go. There are NONE up there now, just the Soloist pro archtop deals. If they are speaking of the mid nineties soloists, built to the same specs as the USA ones, they are a rare find.

There have been tons on ebay when I wasn't looking for them, inluding at one point a pair of matching XL Pro's in white w/ matching headstock and black logo...

Well, I´ve been monitoring pretty much every single online marketplace in Sweden for the last five years... and as far as I can recall I´ve only seen one older Soloist Pro, which in comparison to the fact that there are always a couple of USA´s up for grabs at any given moment makes them pretty rare in my book. This can´t be applied everywhere, of course, but at least around here you don´t see them very often. The situation might be completely different in the States, though.

I would keep the xtrr & get 1 decent model like model 6 or SL pro.
