I like the ghost flames and a few crackles depending on the color, but not a fan of EDS, bikini beach ,the skull pile graphic, and the uber cheesy painted broken glass. But it could be worse I suppose BC Rich takes the cake for bad graphics. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Graphics are cool for the most part. Nakkid wimin, flaming 80s Duran Duran graphic lips and city skilines cheapen a perfectly fine kick ass axe.

I really hate the Bigmouth graphics... Deco Dreams... most of the 80's themed stuff is really horrid.

Just like those neon pink and dayglo fuscia Corona and Ocean Pacific t-shirts, they can stay in the 80's.

I dislike MOST graphics, but some of the worst offenders IMO are:

1. anything with gore, e.g., blood spatter/drip, Red Rum, etc.
2. anything Satanic
3. anything horror-evoking, e.g., graves, ghouls, etc.
4. Ojeda bullseye – a PINK bullseye? Do you WANT to get hit with a bottle?
5. all the beach bikini airbrush jobs – tacky & embarrassing
6. all the deco dream graphics – cheesy, dated, ugly
7. Big Mouth – crude, simplistic artwork
8. Any product placement (e.g., beer brands) – not unless they’re paying me
9. Shattered Glass (OK concept, but Jackson’s execution is way too cartoonish)
10. Blue Bengal – blue doesn’t go with a tiger at all
11. Any crackle – rainbow’s the worst
12. Granite or rock-like finishes
13. Clown-like cherry sunbursts, with a garish, bright red, solid, grain-concealing ring around the edge. This is my FAVORITE finish when done right (subtle & transparent), but Jackson's done a poor job on these from what I've seen - Fender sometimes does nice ones though, so maybe this will improve in the future
14. Polka Dots – Sorry Rhoads fans, but pokey dots are lame – maybe it was DuBrow’s idea [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

I also generally dislike blue or green guitars, pink ANYTHING on a guitar, and gold hardware (it looks OK on the right finish, but it doesn’t hold up, and it never looks as good as black hardware, IMO).

I LIKE:
1. Cherry Sunburst – when done right (subtle & transparent), this is my favorite finish
2. Trans finishes – but not so freakin’ dark it hides the grain!
3. Advanced Red Ghost Flames (without the “blob” at the upper horn)
4. Silver Swirl – if it looks like a sketch, like the SL2H that Vwall sent to Taiwan
5. DeMartini “French”
6. Oriental Dragon on white
7. Jackson’s colorful dragon (don’t know the name, but it’s cool)
8. Warbird graphics are all pretty cool
9. Pencil drawings – as long as the art is well done
10. ESP’s urban camo - sorry, but Jackson's doesn't compare
11. Ibanez' swirl graphics - very cool, but skip the pink
12. Dean's Rusted Metal & Dime-O-Flame
12. Lightning Sky (I used to dislike this, but I’ve reformed - looks great on a Rhoads V)
13. Tie Dye – not all of ‘em, but some are really cool – especially with a maple fretboard

Hot Rod is the worst. Skulls and alike is enought to make me stay away from otherwise dicent instrument.

Ideally transparent colors, that I like the most. Solids are ok but uninspiring, black being the least attractive.

Best paintjob I've seen is on the Ibanez RG-ART or Jackson Orion paintjob from 90s.
