• Just a Idea

I want to start up a website that has info on Jackson/Charvel Guitars since most people have questions about them.

I would have some pictures and the info and stuff like that.

Think it would be a cool idea?

Thanks

haha i know, but I want it to be a resource site, you know so you can scour it and see what theres instead of sifting through the search area.

Re: Just a Idea

Thats a great idea. But seriously, all the info you could ever need is right here. If you could just reorganise it all into an easy to find database..
Heres what I'd want to see on such a site:
A) Database of all models issued, with a picture, specs and production dates
B) A timeline thingy showing important events in J/C history.
C) A tech databse concerning spare parts and known issues etc..
D) An image database of famous guitarists using J/C's
E) A serial number database
F) A link back to here for "other inquiries"

Re: Just a Idea

I started up some html.

This site won't be pretty,

it will be pretty much text based as I want to use my comcast website for it. I will use seperate comcast accounts for pictures ect...

I'm going to start out with the model series for now.

Please E-mail me Pictures of guitars you own. Body shot like this. leave your name/aka so I can give credit.

Yeah, but that is still a little while off I imagine... besides the more the merrier. I say go for it. I think a more streamlined site would be better:
A) Database of all models issued, with a picture, specs and production dates
B) A timeline thingy showing important events in J/C history.

Re: Just a Idea

Michael, I'm pretty much addicted to building and creating sites. I had this idea for a very long time now. I gave it some shots, trying to create a lay-out and stuff, but it never got off the ground. But I'd be more than happy to help out with any photoshop work and stuff! I'm not too shabby at your basic HTML in notepad and frontpage either.

You took too much, man. Too much. Too much.

Re: Just a Idea

One thing that nobody is really realizing is that the old MoAIP was all HTML pages. And despite it's usefulness, it was a dog. This is why we opted to use technology that would utilize a database. While bandwidth isn't a huge issue it's best to keep things like this in mind when re-designing it.

My best suggestion? Be patient, ask questions when you need to know, and keep an eye on the Resources page.
