• Where are the Kelly guitars?

I'm seeing a lot of posts on everyone's new guitars, but where are the Kelly owners? Don't see many being posted anymore, where are ya'll at? Show em with pride man, they're kickass guitars, hopefully there's gonna be one or two in my near future. Pics are cool, but I wanna know why no one's buying em as much as the soloists or KV's

I have a Kelly and I do like it a lot but I'd probably go with a soloist or V on my next purchase... I'd like something a little lighter in weight and with better fret access.

For some reason my KS is a lot lighter than my Kelly, not sure why...

Maybe because of the big hunk of wood which differs the kelly from the KS?

the KE1 i bought from stratheadcharvel is awesome. feels, sounds and looks sweet. warriors and kelly's to me are the best body styles in production. standing or sitting, equally as comfortable. eventually i'll own more of both...

I don't like the warrior that much, but I like the kelly.

Yeah I thought about that obviously, but for some reason it doesn't seem like that amount of wood would make up for that big of a weight difference... maybe it's more wood than I thought.

BTW the upper fret access is equally crappy on both

Re: Where are the Kelly guitars?

I want one in the future. The only thing that makes me nervous about them is where the strap connects, behind the neck. I can't see any of my straps staying on that well, and I don't have any straplocks right now. Then again, I guess $25 strap locks is some cheap insurance. Still, it makes me nervous as hell! Not to mention, have you ever had your guitar come unstrapped right in the middle of a solo live? It robs you of your glory moment! All the hours of practice put into that song, and the gig you've planned for a month is gone in a flash, because the fuckin' strap came off!

Didn't realize the upper fret access is crappy. I've always had a thing for Explorers and floyds, but they never mixed well (on Gibby style), but I kinda dug the KE series because of that. Gonna grab one eventually, but my next buy is a SL1.
