If you could only live with one J/C guitar style..
Re: If you could only live with one J/C guitar style..
i say a rhoads, simply because it was the first jackson. i consider charvels and jacksons different animals, and when i think charvel, it's a bolt on strat. when i think jackson, it's a neckthru rhoads.
Re: If you could only live with one J/C guitar sty
Definately a Soloist. The best combination of versatility, playability (standing and sitting), tone, and comfort. It has the Swiss Army knife of guitars thing going on (like a Strat), and is neck-thru with good upper fret access.
Every other shape has at least one thing that makes it better than a Soloist, and at least one thing that makes it worse.

Star. it fits me sitting down and feels better than a strat shape.
Now, You did not specify picup config or neck construction. So I could always do a Star with s/sh and maple neck thru.
