Re: Shipping To Belgium
Jack - Shipping to Europe is easy there's exactly one extra form to fill out and all it requires is your address, the recipient's address and a declaration of the contents & their value. The cheapest way is always via the US Post Office and in my experience that'll usually run you ~$100-125 for the 10-14 day Airmail Parcel Post service and another $50-ish for the 3-5 day express. UPS & FedEx can run double that and will tack on customs brokerage fees that the postal service doesn't charge.
The only real issue is size. You can't normally mail a package larger than 108" (length + girth) so if you're sending a Rhoads or something similarly large and are actually packing it well you'll have to go with UPS/FedEx/DHL/etc.Catapultam habeo. Re: Shipping To Belgium
I've somewhere on ths forum, some countries, USPS will not let you to put more than $1000 insurance.
If so, be careful if the soloist you are sending is worth more than $1000.
Anyway, you shold go to post offcie and find out the details and what forms you will need to fill out with what information of the receiver.

Re: Shipping To Belgium
Yeah, shiping to Europe is no different than shipping anywhere else, except you have to fill out 1 extra form. Of course shipping cost is much higher, but other than that, just pack like you normally would. The 2nd Amendment: America's Original Homeland Defense.

That's true. The limit is normally $5,000 but for some reason some countries have much smaller limits. Also they probably aren't going to let you insure it for more than the declared value (but you can always try).Catapultam habeo. Nisi pecuniam omnem mihi dabis, ad caput tuum saxum immane mittam!

Where is Ward(GOD)?
He should be here soon.

[/ QUOTE ] Last Fall, I sent a SL2 w/case to Ward. Packed the heck out of it, and the total weight was around 40 lbs. My thinking was "Since your getting charged for a oversize package, why not put a little extra time/materials in packing it up".
Anyway, shipped it USPS with the 10-14 day shipping and it was around $115, and he received it in 6 days.

Re: Shipping To Belgium
Yes, I am having problems selling the Korina Soloist in the States, so I figured I would widen the sales a little.Next step is Ebay unfortunately. The guy is going to get back to me, so we will see. So, is the limit $5000 in Belgium for shiopping insurance? Thanks for everything fellas Jack.

Re: Shipping To Belgium
I have no idea about the maximum insurance figure.
But what insurance do you mean? If you ships USPS the guitar will arrive in Germany and will get delivered to Belgium via ground by General Logistics (USPS's ground courrier here).
If you ship UPS, Fedex or DHL the insurance is dictated by the companies themselves.
So I don't think the insurance rates in Belgium matter that much.
I would vastly recommend DHL for shipping, if you're going to use a Courrier, btw.You took too much, man. Too much. Too much.
