but not to Charvels.
I have a Model 2 (red) that I got 4/87 at Sam Ash in NYC, which has been my baby ever since. back then I did not know the hx of Charvel, nor the changes in where they were manufactured (since learned via internet). all I knew was that for what I could afford at the time, this Model 2 played better than anything else and looked better too. I have since played a number of more expensive guitars and I always come back to the buttery feel of my Model 2 neck and fretboard.
I also wound up getting a Charvel 625C acoustic/electric (cherry sunburst) completely by accident in 1997 or so, I was in a pawn shop and there it was, I had never seen that model before, but it was so incredible looking that I ended up trading a .357 magnum for it. actually the tuners on that one were lousy, so I recently swapped in Schallers and the guitar just sings. super tone both acoustic and plugged in.
marriage, moves and kids have put playing on the back burner for the last several years, but now I am back playing every day and enjoying the hell out of it.
I also have an Ibanez 12 string acoustic (in the shop now getting Schallers put on) which is wonderful as well.
now I have to figure out how to host my pics so they are postable. anyway, thanks for having me here. good to see all the old (and new) metalheads here representing!!
