the bevel kind of reminded me of a guitar in an old Monroe Guitars ad. I think the one in the ad had a snakeskin finish....

That stock pickup should be a J90C, which is actually a fine sounding pup. A lot of people here like 'em...including myself [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

and the pickup was certainly a J90C i just thought it was too weak

And just out of curiousity, how much would YOU pay for this guitar?

When i opened it up it seemed to be wired weird....maybe im just used to dimarzios, but the green and black and uncovered were grounded and red and white were hot....is this rite?

<font color="aqua">those are not rare at all, but that doesn't make them less of a great guitar. As for the pickup, yours may have been "dying", or you just may not like that particular sound. Pickups are definitely a personal choice. </font>

yeah i think it mite have been dying then, because the volume was low and sustain was bad

LOL - that's mean Z. I'd say it's more like a $250 guitar but if you like the way it plays who cares? The Charvel Model series guitars are some of the best imports out there bar none (aside from the Jackson pups which I've never liked).

Well, you didn't get a great deal, but you scored a great guitar. I would pay $250 for that, maybe more, but I would have to see the quality of the refinish and the mods. Green is my favorite color, so I really love it.

Not very, but you aren't seeing them being given away the way you did about 5-10 years ago. I think they're being held on to a little more tightly now, as people realize how good the quality is on these. They rival and surpass many US-made guitars these days. Those days too for that matter.

Yeah honestly i feel like this is one hell of a guitar, its solid, stays in tune, im definetly holding onto this and probably modding it
