What string gauges do you currently have on your Jackson/Charvels and what do you tune to?? I have my Dinky setup with 9's and I tune to standard E (440).

Tuned to Drop D on occasion, but she normally keeps it in standard

I use Elixirs
Ryann uses Prisms, and Rotosounds.

The guy who owns a local shop has a stringwinder and sells LOTS of strings for $3.00 a set, I use his 10-48 set, and Ernie ball 10-52's for drop-c. Or just whatevers lying around.

I've been using Dean Markley 9-42 on standard tuning. However, I've been thinking about putting 10's on more. For me, at least, it seems that I can pick faster/cleaner with 10's than with my 9's. It could be just the guitar.

Joe, its not just the guitar. Heavier strings stay in place way better alowing you to crosspick faster and cleaner without "backing off" all the time.
Thats what I found, anyway. One of the many reasons why i went to heavy strings.

Ernieball 10-46 for regular E tuning. I also tune to low Bb, for that I use one of my 10-46 sets, get rid of the high E and use a GHS 60 for the low Bb.

Re: Strings gauges

GHS Boomers or Carvin strings (10-46) on my Charvel, Jacksons and Carvin guitars in standard, E-flat, D, Drop-D or Drop-D flat tuning.

9-42 GHS Boomers or GHS Burnished Nickel in standard tuning on my Fender Double Fat Strat.

D'Addario 9-46 (half a 9 set on higher strings, half a 10 set on lower strings) on my Hamer. I may soon put EB Power Slinky 11s on it (11-48).

Re: Strings gauges

I usually string up with 11's, but I've got a couple with 13's. One in standard the other in B# (yes, I know. I invented it. ). The others are strung mostly with 9's and 10's since I haven't bought strings in a while.

9's mostly... 10's on guitars I have tuned lower than D...

I've got gutiars in E, Eb, Db, C#... etc...
