Does anybody knows anything ´bout Chris Holmes Yellow STAR "The BEAST"?
Any info?
Year made?
Pick up?
Wood?
What happened to it (the big hole in body)?
Pickup is most likely a Duncan Distortion, body possibly DiMarzio parts body, various Charvel and Jackson necks (changed almost every year). Year 1983 I believe. Maple neck with ebony board. Most likely alder body but might be ash.
Chris has beat the guitar on stage a lot and in purpose with a saw or something. It has also been set afire for a photo shoot.
Here is a more recent photo:

Thanks for the site promotion bros!
This is what Chris told me about a year ago, when I owned the Budstar and he did a gig with it,
The yellow shit, was originally a S-head Vtrem guitar, his girlfriend bought it for him at a pawn shop because he liked the color, he had the V-trem removed and blocked out with maple, then the Tune-o-matic added....This was Chris's story so any doubts..ask Holmes
I think we are gonna have as many stories as on the Harley Star. Here is the email I got from the guy who sent me the photos of the guitar with the reverse strathead:
"Chris had a girlfriend at the time that WASP was gaining momentum. She had that guitar neck sitting in her closet & she gave it to Chris. He & curt found the star body somewhere & they took it to a local guitar builder that they knew. He set the neck & put the hardware on it but he didn’t do paint. They were asking him what kind of paint scheme he thought would look good & he said, “I don’t know!!! Paint the fucker piss yellow for all I care!” So that’s what they did! Honestly, that guitar is neither a Charvel nor a Jackson."
I think if you put this and Frank's story together it's safe to say that a girlfriend was envolved.
One thing I would like to get verified somehow is the fact that Chris told me all his guitars were made of ash. The WO of the zebra rhoads doesn't mention the woods. I wonder if Alz's docs say anything about the body wood...
