I guess that's what to be expected when you run PHP and MySQL on a Windows server.

SQL runs fine on Windows....

Yes... SQL runs great on Windows.. MySQL on the other hand has issues. Requires a lot of maintainance to keep it running in tip top shape.
Wow. MySQL and PHP? No wonder this place is crashing, lol. Seriously though, I never understood why anybody uses MySQL in a "production" environment. SQL Server and Oracle 9i run fine on Windows. Problem is all of the databases have to be migrated and the code ported to use it. Hey, I'm "between jobs" and I am highly qualified. I can donate some time to the cause, just let me know. -Frank

that's funny, I'm running a professional company who does far bigger projects (ao recognition program of P&G) and our system under Linux/UNIX with MySQL and PHP don't require any handling. These systems are far more stable then your Windows server environment, but require more skill to set up properly.

Better than yesterday, but still slower than norm for me.

We run a PHP and MySql on a windows server here with little to no problems.
Most likely the DB is getting loaded with a bunch of uneeded data. A lot of these pre-canned boards do a lot more I/O than you think and can gunk up a DB pretty quickly.
Now for the kicker, knowing what to clean up
