Well, like everyone has stated, it is MySQl and PHP on a Windows box.... it would be much better using MS SQL, but the board software won't run on it I don't believe.

The server this thing is on has 5 sites on it, including ours, it was done like this so the server wasn't taxed with 200 sites using the same resources....

let me see what we can do here, not sure what, but I'll talk with the admin's, mainly J and see what he's prepared to do to fix....

I agree, it's painfully slow at times...

And I must apologize for slakkin lately, I've been otu of town a lot trying to get a new business venture off the ground and a little fishing to boot, not enough tho, weekends only it seems which sucks cause the lakes are so busy in these parts with 40'+ boats....

Anyway, let me see what we can do here...

Pat, for the record, I want to thank you for all the work you have done, and all you have given the JCF. I know you don't want public gratification, but lets call a spade a spade here: Literally, if it weren't for your generosoty, this board wouldn't be here!

Jeremy, I am a member at several other internet boards, from other guitar boards to songwriting and a couple motorcycle boards. Quite a few of these have asked for donations and been flooded with monetary help, way over what they were expecting or needed at the time.
Would being on a better server or something be a question of who's paying for it? If that is the concern, I think you'll find the members here will ante up big to help the board. We all love it here, that's why we hang here and financial help would be very easy to come by. A couple of the boards I'm on have done this, and they are on very stable servers, with nary a glitch in sight. That's worth money to me.

+1 here Chuckracer. I'm a member of some motorcycle and car sites that have taken donations via Paypal, check or money order. It helps a great deal.

I don't think it's the matter of a server or a more stable server, just the applications running. the board really needs to be on a Linux server with the current apps, OR the apps moved to more of a Windows based DB such as MS SQL...

I'm looking into this right now as I've been gone a lot and really had no idea about the problems here. rest assured, it's a high priority for us at this point...
