Black inlays on Ebony: Got Pics?

OK, this might sound a bit stupid, but Ive had a thought:
What are the black inlays normally made of, and how would they look on an ebony board? Are they a solid black plastic or can you get black MOP?

I think they are made of ebony and synthetic ebony. You can try black pearloid maybe?

I had a similar idea maybe you can have like MOP "binding" on the inlay? It might have crazy upcharge though...

So you mean a thin MOP stripe outlining the black inlay? I think that'd be some pretty intricate work there, definitely expensive.
OK, I guess ebony inlays on an ebony board IS a bit dumb, but the black pearl would look pretty cool.

I have some black mother of pearl, and it unfortunately turns green in the light

the Mop binding would be simple for a dot...
you just take the mop and use a drill press and make the pearloid dot in the middle, and use the bigger size press for the cutout in the fretboard

Really nice work there! Those inlays might look awesome outlined in silver, too. That would look good with the chrome hardware...
