Thanks for the replies guys. In some of the pics, it looks more reddish and in others I've seen, it looks more purpleish. I guess I'd have to see one in person. How close is it to the red they used to use for the base of the red ghost flame graphic?

I think I'm seeing Pavo Purple and Black Cherry getting mixed up here.

My black cherry 5a has almost a brownish tint to it. It almost acts like a flip-flop depending on the lighting. Other times it look very dark, almost black. I posted on this color difference previously. Some seemed to think it is a normal production variation.

Where? [img]/images/graemlins/scratchhead.gif[/img] Purple Pavo is a brighter purple, there's no denying it when you see it. A few people on this board have had guitars in that color.

Nah, that's a form of black cherry. I think it's just the light. Pavo is definitely brighter. Here's a PP KV3 that Newc used to own.

Eh, sorry about the small pic... it's from the Gallery. Anyway, I don't think Purple Pavo was made in the '80s, so it wouldn't be on Superfly's guitar.
