I picked this up at a local shop in B-more. The action is sweet and has very little fret noise. The dude was asking 2 hundred. Then I plugged it in. SERIOUS grounding problems. I said are you sure 2 hundred? The shop keeper dropped it to half price. So I took it. When I got it home, I took a closer look at it and discovered it may have had the neck replaced. I'm not sure of the origin, when it was made or where. The plate on the back says 361019. Can anyone help?

Re: Latest Find

It's a Model series of some sort. Somebody will be along shortly to tell you exactly which one.

Great guitar...especially for a hundred bucks. Nice score. Rock it hard.

Re: Latest Find

My best guess is that it is a 375 body w/ the single coil routes modded to accept the lip of the new pickups, and a Model Series neck with an added Floyd nut. Pretty sure all of the Model Series bolt-ons had full-size strat bodies, & this looks like a dinky body. Time frame for the neck would be '86 - '88, and for the body more like '89 - early '90s. If it plays well you got a great deal.

thats right for the 80ies models 1-4, where the neck is surely taken from
body (and plate) should be from a 90ties toothpaste charvel as you said maybe a 375
lets hear what the others say

Re: Latest Find

I actually thought with those horns that it looked more like a Jackson body than a 375-era Charvel. Or maybe I'm just too used to seeing 375s & 475s with trans finishes

Checking the neck heel & pocket for stamps will reveal all.

The body is consistent with the 375DLX

Great score for only $100! 375 body and Model 2 or 3 neck, it's a nice mutt anyway.

Thanks everyone, the next time I change strings, I'll peel the neck off to see what it reveals.

I don't think that is a 375 body. Didn't all of the 375s have the carved out neck joint? Looking at the back of this body it does not have that. Maybe an old Jackson body.

That trem does not seem to be stock as well IMHO!

Have you pulled it apart yet to see what the pickups are?
