After looking really, really hard at it, the serial number is imprinted on the board. Looks like the fretboard may have been sanded or reshaped? Either way the initial problem has been fixed and all is good.

I guess there always has to be a problem. If I remember correctly; unauthorized repair, by unauthorized repair shop = Jackson didnt have to do squat. Not only did they fix the problem, they did it without charging Donnie $200+...
