from what i recall, your original post was fine. it's just the rambling discussion that goes on after. much like the smaller cases for Vs thread. nice idea, imo, but it could have just ended there instead of turning into a multipage thread.

Ok then, how about this for an idea:
Someone posts the initial question in the Ask Jackson section, and that initial post has a link to the discussion thread in whatever section it applies to (USA, Import, or General if it concerns both USA and Imports, such as in the case of a New Model Suggestion)?

This way, John can reply in the Ask Jackson section, and if he is mildly interested in the idea he can go straight to the Discussion thread for that particular question from the link within that question, or respond however he pleases without viewing the Discussion.

Sound like a better plan? IMO it'd certainly be better than "Oh by the way, there's a lengthy discussion buried somewhere in "USA Jacksons", use the Search to find it". You still end up with the multi-page ramblings, but at least not in the AJ thread.
