Charvel 101

I have noticed alot of interest in the SD Charvels from some of our newer members. This post is intended to be fun but also educational. My guitars are no strangers on this board so many of you may recognize them by their color. Let the newbs try and figure out what is a San Dimas and what is a Models series guitar.

A and D look the same and B and C look the same, but don't know which group is from where. The necks, the joint is closer to the head on the bottom one, but don't know which is which.

After looking at my 3a (cheating I know), my guess is bodies A and D and neck A are model series.

I gave up on that asian test. I was probably doing so bad and it just kept going on without end it seemed.

I'm not new around here, but I'm pretty much a newbie to the Charvel line.

I'd say you're correct (although I don't have a clue about the necks, since both my Charvels have painted necks). The A and D bevel cuts look identical to that on my Model 6, and the black one looks like it has a recessed trem cover - also found on my Model 6. I guess they could also be "post Model series" toothpaste logo Charvels, since my 750XL also has these features.

yes but later SD made necks have the lower scarf joint like the model series.
