I like them all! I actually had one of those Vans. It was the first truck I ever bought. I believe that's a '62 Ford Econoline van! I never had a Schwinn Sting Ray. (Another collectable expensive item)

Re: Charvel wants your opinion!

I just confirmed it is a '62 Ford Econoline. I "Hot Rodded" mine in 1972, so it might fit the era. I had to ditch the inline 6. It kept catching on fire. HaaHa!

The colors and designs are very cool, with that old school vibe!

Anybody heard of Paul Frank Industries? They are a boutique clothing designer in SoCal who has been putting out these types of designs for years. I've seen the Ford Econoline van one almost exactly like #1. The other ones come close also. Amazingly similar. Some of the stuff may be on their website. I see this type of retro stuff all the time.

Wonder who owns the legal rights? Someone may be facing copyright infringement. Hope the Fender parent clears the legal stuff before printing these up or it could turn ugly.

Re: Charvel wants your opinion!

#2..then #1.. I'll pass on #3

I'd go for any of the plain logo suggestions also.

Re: Charvel wants your opinion!

I like # 1 but it reminds me of the Beach Boys.
I have a question regarding #2. Why would a ragtop have a racing stripe on it. That car should be a hardtop if its gonna have a stripe. Also, Mopars didn't have stripes like that. You should do an E-body Cuda or Challenger with the Billboard graphics. Also, you should consider something in the vein of RatFink.

Re: Charvel wants your opinion!

I dont like any of them really. They should use later model cars like a 78 to 83 T.A., corvette or Z28. Something that goes more with the era that they dominated.

Did they ever think of just putting a cool looking guitar on the shirt? Maybe a guitar with the flame graphic might be more appealing to Charvel players and fans. You asked for opinions......

you got that right! how about a black shirt with kickass guitar body graphic about 18" high?
the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

Re: Charvel wants your opinion!

Paul frank sells all that overpriced crap that people who shop at pacific sunwear waste their money on.

The 78 trans am would be sweet, but as much as I like charvels and firebirds, I wouldn't wear such a shirt. Just too weird mixing the two.

Re: Charvel wants your opinion!

Out of those three, I would have to go with #1. It certainly has that late 70's vibe! All of a sudden "Summer Breeze" is playing in my head! #2 is ok, but being a diehard Ford guy, there's no way I would ever wear anything associated with mopar! I don't like #3 at all, and totally agree that a chopper would be more fitting! If you want something associated with "hot rods", why not have a real hot rod like a Ford roadster or T-Bucket? The Ratfink idea is cool too, but there would be the trouble and cost of licensing. Plain old logos are cool too!

They are all ok. I would buy some if that's all there were.

I agree that it is cool to have some unique old school designs.....but I think lots of us would also like the simple logo shirts too.

Hell....they should do these plus the basic logo shirts.....the more I think about it, I'll buy them all. We've been waiting so damn long for Charvel swag.

I agree on the simple logo thing, but if #3 was a horse,I'd shoot it..
Bon Jovi is like a frozen Coca Cola.. It's cool, it's crunchy, but when all is said and done it is still pop....
