I personally think is is lousy... The thematics is more sutable for 12-year-olds, but at this age they don't usually have enough to pay for a custom shop guitar.
I'd suggest more of a good natural finishes, or some artsy pix... more like an art really as opposed to this. The stuff with the stylezed dragons, or cosmic etc is much more interesting.

To you, but clearly your age estimate is a bit off considering how respected Mike's work is here.
Gen was reworked for sensitivity for the customer. Easy fix. Fortunately it was caught before clear coat.
Alex, don't hold anything back man. :o) Personal tastes are all different. We have a bunch of "mature designs" in the works as well. Hang in there. By the way, this design done for a customer in his 50's. Just shows you how diferent our tastes are.
Rock on,
Mike
Got to say I prefer the redesign of Gen as well. The original was more authentic I suppose but even seeing that symbol leaves a bad taste in my mouth ya know? The german cross one just looks badass without any wierd aftertastes
Mike when you do a guitar for the custom shop how is that usually handled, it seems like as opposed to the usual "customer supplied artwork" you come up with the design yourself. Does the customer just give you and idea what they are looking for or what? I ask because I'd love to get a Learn painted guitar at some point. Not something as elaborate as your full body designs (I could never afford those ), but a top/headstock combo design maybe.

WHEW indeed... i dont want to even THINK about how ugly it would look with a regular pickguard.. IMO, it would negate the whole graphic and the fact that even the pups are painted
shame the floyd will take that much space .. unless its painted too LOL
You can't play no muthfuggin' arpeggios on a tuba...

That is pretty much it Chris. The dealer will contact Mike Kotzen who will contact me. We take their ideas and put them to work. Any input at all is appreciated.
We don't like to use customer supplied artwork for the main reason that the images are usually grabbed from somewhere else. I don't like to use other's intellectual property. if it is a skectch or something that the customer did, then that's fine as long as there is some room to tweak it a bit if nessecary.
