• Why did KV1 disapeare?

Just because Dave changed to YKV2?
I think the Korina KV is one of the hottest guitars Jackson ever made.
Any chances it will come back?

Because the Kahler 2230?, APM or whatever bridge they used became discontinued when Kahler closed it's doors some time ago.

FWIW, they're making the bridge again, but I doubt they'll ever make a KV1, unless you place a custom order to those specs.

Re: Why did KV1 disapeare?

What Xeno said, I think the only difference between KV1 & KV2 is the bridge:
KV1 = Kahler
KV2 = Floyd

yeah right, the only differece is the brigde. But it wouldn't be that a hard thing to use a TOM instat. Some would prefer this, anyway.
Or is Dave legaly connected to the Kv in anyway?
If so, he wouldn't by using a TOM. (understand?)

Maybe I should put this in "Ask Sweet Miss Jackson"

I heard that there is a chance that Kahler might be coming back to the Jackson lineup after next NAMM, but even in that case Korina KV-1 type guitar still sounds like a custom order as Jackson doesn't use Korina in their production line anymore.

Re: Why did KV1 disapeare?

I'm a Kahler guy, which is about the only reason someone should want the 3310 bridge. Unless you're looking for a universal feel across your fixed bridge and Kahler trem guitars, there is absolutely no reason to pay the upcharge over a good tune-o-matic.

Re: Why did KV1 disapeare?

There were a few variations of the KV1, some were a bit significantly different from the KV2. Fretwire, Tuning machines, bridge, pickups etc.

Kahler never truly went out of buisness. The company was ran by APM and very low production. 3310's rock.

I love the 3310, too, but I don't love it $229 worth. I've got one on my KE1, but I'd never pay extra for one.

I believe the Jackson rep said their will be no Kahler option for both Jacksons and Charvels anytime soon as the demand is not there.

No Dave is not Legally Connected to the KV. It became his sig model for many years, until the Y2K. & now he has a string-thru bridge version from ESP.
